After touring in support of First Impressions of Earth, the Strokes went on an extended hiatus in 2007 and then regrouped two years later to begin writing new material for a fourth album.Įngineered & recorded at One Way Studios & Electric Lady Studios except: "Under Cover Of Darkness", "Gratisfaction", "Life Is Simple In The Moonlight" & "Two Kinds Of Happiness" recorded at Avatar Studios, One Way Studios & Electric Lady Studios. It is the group's first album since First Impressions of Earth (2006), marking their longest gap to date between studio albums.
